Self-introduction
My speciality is clinical oncology and subspeciality is neuo-oncology, that means medical therapy for malignant neoplasum of central nervous system. I have also been interested in basic/ translational research of malignant neoplasum of central nervous system and clinical study of various kinds of malignant neoplasum.

Long-term outcomes and QOL of the patients with germinoma, 2nd Japan-Italy Symposium on AYA survivors with childhood cancers, 2015/01/10, With Invitation, English, Japan-Italy Symposium on AYA survivors with childhood cancers, Tokyo, Japan, QOL of the patients treated with 50-Gy RTX is much lower than that of the patients with low dose RTX+CMTX. The anterior pituitary functions progressed after 50-Gy RTX and the second tumors would have developed in higher rate. On the contrary, The anterior pituitary functions have preserved or improved after low dose RTX+CMTX, and the occurrence rate of the second tumors is very low.In actuarial KM analysis of OS and EFS, low dose RTX+CMTX is superior to 50-Gy radiation retrospectively, because of avoiding second tumors and other second events.The next aim is to evaluate QOL of the patients with NH-involved lesions.

QOL of extremely long-time survivors with germinoma, Kazuhiko Sugiyama, 22nd international conference of brain tumors on research and therapy, 2018/06/24, With Invitation, English, organized committee of 22nd international conference of brain tumors on research and therapy, Bergen, Norway, The aims of this paper are to summarize outcomes of quality of life of the extremely long-time survivors with germinoma mainly treated with bilateral beams of radiation, and to compare them with those who treated with dose & volume-reduced chemo-radiotherapy. Radiation group consisted of 52 patients treated from 1968 to 1995 Median F/U was 240 months. Main causes of death included second tumors and several social events after care-givers’ death. Second tumors consisted of 5 high grade gliomas, 1 atypical meningioma, and 1 osteosarcoma. Hormonal impairments were worsened around one year after radiation treatment. Marriage & career status were also unsatisfactory. Dose & volume-reduced chemo-radiotherapy group consisted of 45 patients treated from 1999 to 2009. Median F/U was 171 months. All tumors completely disappeared after this treatment. All of them have been alive, while we have 5 second CR after initial recurrences. The peaks of growth hormone were generally well-preserved, or improved in some cases around one year after treatment. Chronic myeloid leukemia and parotid carcinoma within radiation field occurred 12 months and 48 months after treatment. In cause-specific OS, that means germinoma-related death rate, both groups were similar, but mainly radiation group was inferior to dose & volume-reduced group in actuarial OS. Evaluation of quality of life in dose & volume-reduced group is the next aim.
