  1. When was the Final Official Version of the Le Code Compiled?, 5th International Cogress for Vietnamese Studies, 2016/12/16, Without Invitation, Hanoi, Vietnam, In the previous paper for the Fourth International Conference on Vietnamese Studies, I insisted that the Lê Code now existing didn’t change so much from that of King Lê Thái Tổ. Paying attention to the articles which are under strong infruence of the Ming Code promulgated under the reign of the King Thánh Tông, we can easily know that those articles in Hồng Đức Thiện chính (Selection of good articles of Hồng Đức period) imitate the Pi fu lü t‘iao that common peopel of Ming period eddited illegally. “Pi fu” means “Liken and apply”, so it is nessesary to exist the main code – the Ming Code. Cố Lê Luật lệ (Previous code of the Lê dynasty) also includes some articles in accordance to the sentencing of the Ming Code. Conversely Thiên Nam Dự hạ tập (Collected Works of King Lê Thánh Tông) doesn’t include any article like that. For these facts, I want to submit my result. 1) For a period of time, king Lê Thánh Tông applied the Ming Code in place of the Lê Code. 2) But his attempt didn’t succeed and these articles under the strong influence of the Ming Code lost the legal effect. 3) The Mạc Kings collected many articles of the Lê period to compile new Code. But unstable political situation made this project failed. Only one achievement of them was to add some articles that king Lê Thánh Tông had promuglated to the Lê Code. 4) Hồng Đức Thiện chính includes every article which is existing in the chapters “Tăng bổ Hương hỏa lệnh”(Additional law on incense and property) and “Tăng bổ Tham chước Hiệu định Hương hỏa lệnh” (Additional revised law on incense and property). These chapters were added in the Mạc period, so the origin of the Lê Code now existing is the official version of the Mạc dynasty. King Lê Thánh Tông is unrelated to the revision of the Lê Code.
