テキストデータにおける分類、翻訳、意味理解に関して研究し、 近年はベイズ統計に基づいたモデル選択・推定や外れ値検知 ・高次元データにおける効率的な計算方法にも取り組んでいる。医療現場からセキュリティ分野まで観測データをより効果的に利用し、診断やリスク解析を改善することが目標だ。
