私達の身の回りの機械・装置は時間と共に傷つき壊れます。永遠に壊れない物を作ることは難しいけれど,傷つきにくく壊れにくい物を作ることは可能です。それには 「モノが壊れる」仕組みを理解することが大切。私達はモノが傷つき壊れる仕組みを研究することで,より壊れにくい新材料開発を行なっています。またモノが壊れる寿命を正確に把握することで,機械・装置類の安全な運用・稼働を目指しています。
