Self-introduction
I have consistently promoted "research related to the molecular mechanism of endoplasmic reticulum stress response and physiology and pathophysiology", and have made numerous achievements that have opened the door to elucidation of pathogenic mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease, bone metabolism diseases, rare diseases, etc. (NCB, 1999, NCB, 2005, NCB 2009(2), Nat Commun 2012, Mol Cell 2014, etc.). In addition to working to develop young researchers from the leading position of academic activities in Japan, such as serving as president of the Japanese Society of Neurochemistry and as a collaborative researcher of the Science Council of Japan, I have established university-endowed courses to develop industry-academia collaboration research and contribute widely to local communities and society. I have been recognized as a Distinguished Professor who conducts particularly outstanding research in Hiroshima University.
