- Self-introduction
- My research fields are Japanese language education and sociolinguistics. In particular, my research focuses on the following three areas: (1) persuasive strategies used by monolingual and bilingual speakers in multilingual societies; (2) the classroom culture of Japanese language teachers in developing countries, including their beliefs about learning, teaching, and education; and (3) Japanese language education and Japanese language teacher training curricula in Central Asia, particularly in Kyrgyzstan, as well as collaborative research between Japan and Kyrgyzstan. I am also engaged in the development of textbooks for Japanese language teacher training and teaching materials for Japanese language learners, including presentation materials and Japanese learner's dictionaries.
Applicants who have graduated from a university outside Japan and wish to apply to the Teaching Japanese as a Second Language Program, Graduate School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences (Master's Program, Doctoral Program, or research student) as privately financed international students, or who wish to apply for a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship as Research Students through Embassy Recommendation, University Recommendation, or other schemes, should submit their application through the International Admissions Assistant System (IAAS) (https://www.iao.hiroshima-u.ac.jp/).
