Self-introduction
Masaki Ogura received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from Texas Tech University in 2014. After serving as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, an Assistant Professor at Nara Institute of Science and Technology, and an Associate Professor at Osaka University, he joined Hiroshima University in 2024 as a Professor in the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering. His research interests include swarm control, artificial intelligence, self-organization, and complex systems. He works on the analysis and control of systems consisting of many interacting elements, including biological swarms, robot swarms, transportation systems, and urban systems. His awards include the 2012 SICE Best Paper Award, the 2018 SICE Control Division Conference Award, the Runner-up Prize for the 2019 IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering Best Paper Award, the 2021 SICE Award for Outstanding Book, and the 2023 IEICE Technical Committee on Mathematical Systems Science and its Applications Excellent Paper Award, received in 2024.
